Spain Pictures

This is the first picture I took outside Madrid Airport.
A unique statue of a fat person sitting on a bull.

This is the picture outside my
hotel. Beautiful 4 roomed hotel in Gran Canaria.

This is another picture outside my hotel ...
Beautiful view on a beautiful island.

Clear blue skies by the pool... dated 27/10/07

I was eating potato chips with salsa sauce with Shirley by the pool... relax...

Me on a bench, a typical evening in Gran Canaria.

Below is the waiter at an Italian restaurant in Gran Canary, who presented this "surprise meal". This Italian noodle with lobster cost around SGD50 and its similar to"mee pok". But I prefer our Singapore $3 Mee Pok... haha

Together with my collegues (26/10/07) in the casino (Maspalomas)... waiting for the caberet show girls to perform.

Review on the 4 Divas

I took a cab with my grandmother on the 9th September 2007 to Kallang Indoor Stadium for the " 4 Divas " concert. It was quite an unusual experience because I've never went to a concert with my grandma before. haha.. it was nice though.. to spend some time with her. I also notice that there were alot of cantonese audiences.

The concert stared off with the 4 divas with a power house song... their vocals are incredible. All very strong but different. Maria (肥妈 - 玛莉亚) started off first her solo first. A funny lady... she mentioned she had 6 children and 11 grandchildren! I was shocked. Then, she mentioned her "hanging/flabby arms". Damn funny... she said when she sing "london bridge is falling down" to her grandson, she say her hanging arm really "falling" down. Haha.. and she want to "chop chop chop" it off. I laughed to tears. I was inspired by her frankness and shes really comfortable in her own skin. No wonder shes a diva. She also cried when singing a song because shes soo touched. Abit touching.

Next came, Anita Sarawak with her newly curled black tresses. Not very recognisable. She was really energetic and danced and sashayed around like a diva/mad woman. haha... The songs she sang includes :- 'Jing Tian Bu Hui Jia' and 'mambo number 5'. She dressed in a beautiful green flowing dress designed by a top designer.

The 4 Divas then started a combi and the Elisa Chan (陳潔靈), from Hong Kong started to sing her solo with a mixture of chinese and cantonese songs. Elisa had short short hair with a shining shining jacket. She came towards the audience (with her husband carrying her off the stage) when she sang a cantonese song. Her voice is nice too... smooth and melodic. Shes the "youngest" of the 4 divas.

Francis Yip joined her with a dual cantonese song. Francis Yip is a really really great singer. She has a very strong voice. Powerful. Her theme song is "ShangHai Tan" and she also sang an english song about "You don't send me flowers anymore". Lovely and Sweet 59 yeared old lady. She also mentioned she didn't eat rice for 3 weeks. Amazing.

Overall, It was enjoyable. I went for supper with mama after that at Oasis Restaurant as they're famous for their Taiwan Porriage. We ordered Sambal Kangkong, Dao Xi Fish and "Cai Por with Large intestines". Nice supper.
I went home, sleepy but glad with a song in my head.

Two Good Things... maybe

There's 2 good things happening to me in this month and in October. However, I'm still uncertain if they're really as great as they seem...
1. I'm going to a concert tomorrow with my grandmother. Its title : ''4 Asian Divas Live in Concert'' . Kindda excited now... I choose better seats with a total damage of $260 for 2 tickets!!! It'd better be good manz.
Abit more about the concert :-
(The divas, consisting of Frances Yip (葉麗儀), Anita Sarawak, Maria Cordero (肥妈 - 玛莉亚) and Elisa Chan (陳潔靈), are world class performers known for their powerhouse vocals and excellent showmanship.Having accumulated more than a century worth of experience between them, the stage truly belongs to these four Asian divas. Equally adept with both fast tracks and ballads, they will entertain with Mandarin, English and Cantonese hits, oldies and evergreens, making this a multi-racial performance. Having charmed dignitaries, fellow celebrities and fans alike in their critically acclaimed sold out shows in Hong Kong, Malaysia and Thailand, the four Asian divas finally come to Singapore for the first time ever on 9th September at the Singapore Indoor Stadium with the much anticipated "Four Asian Divas Live in Singapore".)

2. My director came to me about a week or so ago and asked if I was interested to go to Spain for my company's exibition there. My role there was to serve the guests refreshments and to make sure everyone is comfortable. Like machiam act like a vase. Crap... but I'm not gonna miss this opportunity. I agreed.

So, I'm really going to Gran Canaria (Spain) between the period of 17 Oct 07 to 26 or 27th Oct 07. Alongside with my boss, director, project director... (all big shots)! Can't believe it. I'm still not sure if its a good thing. But it seems like now. Excited. :)

Just hope I can get back to Singapore in time for my birthday. My 21st birthday. But even if its in Spain.. quite nice.

Blusher

Tuesday (21st August 2007), I went to Paragon, The Lasik Surgery Clinic for my 2nd review. My eye sight improved drastically... The degree of my left eye was +50 and right eye was +25 (with astigmatism of 75). Sooo kindda happy that my left eye's astigmatism is entirely gone... I hope my eye sight will improve somemore.

I went to Tangs after that... and bought the Dallas blusher from BENEFIT. I was amazed by the BA when I tried on the blusher. She just swipe once on my cheek and it turned rosy in such a nice, natural manner. The damage was SG$60. **Outch** But I really like it... so i thought I indulge in this L.A branded blusher. Application is easy and its soo very Pretty...

Japanese / Korean Snacks - Volume 2

This is my all time childhood favourite japanese snack. My mummy use to buy this for me when I was really really small...(maybe 10 - 14 years ago). Nostelgic. I really love them... but we seldom get to eat this because it was quite expensive... And is still expensive now. I think its about SG$5 per pack.
This is a tasty cracker layered with a layer of cheese cream and topped with an almond nut. Be warned... Very very addictive. Ratings (4.5/5)

This "Elise" is a korean snack. Its a waffle stick with strawberry cream and milk cream inside. It taste better than it looks I must say... because I was "persuaded" by Michael to buy this because its cheaper than the Japanese snacks.
I'm quite satisfied for its taste I must say....
(3.5/5)

This was a gift from Li Kim. She knew I was into Japanese / Korean snacks and stuff so she passed this korean snack to me during one of our kick-boxing class. So sweet of her right? haha... Good friends are hard to find!!!
Anyway, this is a Korean snack, chocolate donut-shaped biscuit coated with coconut. Coconut typed snacks are not really my favourites.. but still okay. (2.5/5)

Packet Food done by ME !

This was prepared on 3rd August 2007, Friday, when I took annual leave for my supposedly "pre lasik evaluation" which was postponed to saturday instead. I made this for tiny and he was delighted. It consist of a fried chicken drumstick (which takes forever to fry due to its thickness), bamboo shoot (from a can) with Enoki mushrooms and carrots from my Ah Gong's crab dish. Looks good... but lighting not too good. :)

This was prepared some time back also for him. Its consist of ham, brocolli & Enoki mushrooms, garlic prawns and a fried egg below, covered with the rice. And of course, with the garnishings of 2 slices of tomatoes.
HmMm... I think I spoil him too much.... haha..

Japanese/Korean Snacks - Volume 1

Recently, I've been into Japanese / Korean snacks!!!
And I've consumed alot .... Yes, i mean ALOT of those costly snacks which cost around SG$3.50 to SG$5.00 for a small packet.
Michael says I'm insane because I seems to get addicted to the japanese/korean section at Junction 8's cold storage.
Savaging for newer more attactive products.
The brown packet labelled with "mini" is a snack biscuit with a chocolate layer sandwiched between 2 coconut coated cracker. (2.5/5)
One of the prettiest packaging I've seen so far is the "Toppo" strawberry flavoured sticks. Not to my liking because the flavouring is too fake and it's abit too sourish for me. Ratings (1.5/5)

This Green Tea Pocky is one of my favourite japanese snack. Its a simple pocky stick coated with a generous amount of green tea flavoured cream. Very very nice.... Even Michael gives it a thumbs up! (3.5/5)

The Actual LASIK SURGERY dated 6th August 2007

This is me all dressed up and prepared for the Lasik Operation !!!

I reached The Lasik Surgery Clinic at Paragon at around 7.45pm on Monday, 6th August 2007. But I waited for quite awhile before I got dressed up (as per above). The nurse helped me dress up and prepare me for the operation. The nurse applied some anti-bacteria liquidy stuff on my eyes and ask me to wait for awhile.

She came back and told me to enter the operating theater. I was terrified!!!!!
As I entered the cold room, Dr Mark Teh is there with an assistant who helped me onto the seat (which looks like a dental chair). I can see a red blinking dot from the machine over my head.

The Procedure

Dr Teh started operating with my right eye first. He gave me anesthetic eyedrop first and placed a transparent sticky tape over my eye to keep my eye lashes away. He then cut an opening on the sticky tape around my eye and theres this equipment around my eye which pushes my eyelid open. It was uncomfortable as my eyes were never open this wide before!!!!

Next, he placed suction device on my eyeball and I blacked out for a few seconds. (As in eyes open but blacked out). Scary.

I feel as though my eyeball was deflated!!! Then, Dr Teh made a cut on my cornea to create the cornea flap which he flips over and my vision became blur. He keeps telling me to focus on the red dot. and I did just that.

I was very very scared/ frightened.

He then proceded with the Laser... he tells me "30% completed, awhile more, focus, 80%.... done. The laser part was fast and painless. Then, he flip back my cornea and I can start to see clearly already. Amazing. It was a rather short procudure.

I was terrified and didnt wanna do my left eye but he already began... and the procedure was the same as the right eye.

Overall, I would say its a worth while surgery because I can see clearly in the morning without having to fuss over spectacles or contact lens. I was the happiest lady alive after the operation and I'm recovering very well. :)

The above is a picture of me after the Lasik Surgery... if you look closely, my entire eye white is red. My heart is still beating quite fast after that...haha...

Lasik Surgery

I wanna open my eyes when I'm swimming too... and to pay SGD2633.80 for an eternity of good/perfect vision is quite a good bargain.
Can you believe I went for Lasik pre-evaluation on saturday (04/08/07) and I'm doing Lasik Operation tonight!!!!!!! TONIGHT!!!! At 7 pm, Paragon, The Lasik Surgery Clinic:-

http://www.lasiksurgeryclinic.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=19&Itemid=29

I admit, I'm scared. At the same time, excited. But the quest for perfect vision overides all my fears.

I long to see without glasses or contacts and I wanna use my eyes properly (as in without any aid). I can't wait to go swimming or driving or shopping or travelling or even to work with my new eyes!!!

I really hope the operation won't hurt.

Michael says he'll go with me... so nice huh~ Blah~

MTV - 恋爱达人

"恋爱达人" is really one of my favourite MTVs.
I love the connection between Xiao Zhu and Xiao S.
It's mysterious, playful with a little naughtiness. Nice.

YEAR 2006

I realise I did not blog the ENTIRE YEAR OF 2006 !!! Can you imagine? It is like skipping an ENTIRE year of your life... as if everything was smooth and nothing interesting enough for me to blog about. In fact, it's not.
Year 2006 for me is full of changes, a rocky and unstable period because I was new to the outside world, a world filled with ugly & bitchy bosses, office politics and even unequal standards.
And society does show favouratism. The world which I always thought was fair, is simply not. "Life is not fair. And It never will be."(Mr Choo once told me this)

It was a stressful year for me. To top it all, I have no idea what I want out of life. I've got no goals, no plans for the future...everything seems too far away. But I have ambitions... a whole lot of them.
I've learnt quite a fair bit about life in the year 2006.

Family is really important and I regretted for neglecting them quite abit last year due to work, boyfriend, friends. However, I feel that the year 2006 was also a time I was trying to "break away" from the concept that I'm still a kid/student in school. I was struggling to breath. Struggling to prove my worth, struggling to say "HEY, I can stand on my own now. Please leave me ALONE"

My grandma's nagging was terrible in the Year 2006. It's better now. I'm not sure is it because she gave up on me or she just can't be bothered now. (Nagging is tiring as well...)

Nevertheless, I love my grandmother dearly. Shes the only grandmother I have left and despite her bad mouth and hot temper, she will still be my most beloved grandma. I know she nags because she loves me, but who likes listening to naggings?

Ok, enough on the naggings...
To make things worse, I was emotionally hurt by my bf in the year 2006. It was the period between Nov ~ Dec 2006.
He's such a jerk (even when I think of it now). He drove to Cameron Highlands with his poly ex girlfriend for a holiday. I was devastated... I allowed him to go because I didn't want to seem like a possesive and an "I want him all to myself!!!" kind of girlfriend. To make things worse, he shared a room with his ex gf. Claiming that they wanted to save money. I was shattered. I can picture them joking and enjoying themselves in that shared room.
I cried countless nights over this and threw useless tantrums.
He threw my trust into the trashbin and I can never forgive nor forget him. That was the worse experience I've had in all my past relationships. A very painful experience.

With all these, I realise again how ugly love can be.

Lucky its all over now... but our relationship will never be the same again.

Derek's 21st Birthday gathering

From left: Me, Derek, Bao Rong's gf, Bao Rong, De Wei and Josephine

(dated 21st July 2007)

Derek invited me to his 21st Birthday Party at his house at Pasir Ris. So nice of him but I told him I'll see hows my mood that day first before I promise him. haha.. Eventually,I went.

It has been awhile since I saw my old poly friends. I think the last time I saw some of them was at a supper gathering at Alamin(Bukit Timah)

I took a cab from Bishan to Derek's place that saturday and the taxi uncle soo nice lo... he tried hard to find Derek's house (which is quite inside inside) and even after I got off the cab, the taxi uncle still give me directions on the exact block I'm looking for. Quite happy that the chinese speaking uncle is so kind.

I finally entered Derek's house and was surprised that it's filled with so many unknown faces, consisting of mainly Derek's fan club. A cute girl named Wendy handed me a brouche when I entered Derek's house, something like a mini magazine all about Derek and his blogging and lots of nonsense inside. But I think it's quite creative of him for that.

I think Derek should become a publisher or something... chemical engineering is definately not his field.
