She came back and told me to enter the operating theater. I was terrified!!!!!
As I entered the cold room, Dr Mark Teh is there with an assistant who helped me onto the seat (which looks like a dental chair). I can see a red blinking dot from the machine over my head.
The Procedure
Dr Teh started operating with my right eye first. He gave me anesthetic eyedrop first and placed a transparent sticky tape over my eye to keep my eye lashes away. He then cut an opening on the sticky tape around my eye and theres this equipment around my eye which pushes my eyelid open. It was uncomfortable as my eyes were never open this wide before!!!!
Next, he placed suction device on my eyeball and I blacked out for a few seconds. (As in eyes open but blacked out). Scary.
I feel as though my eyeball was deflated!!! Then, Dr Teh made a cut on my cornea to create the cornea flap which he flips over and my vision became blur. He keeps telling me to focus on the red dot. and I did just that.
I was very very scared/ frightened.
He then proceded with the Laser... he tells me "30% completed, awhile more, focus, 80%.... done. The laser part was fast and painless. Then, he flip back my cornea and I can start to see clearly already. Amazing. It was a rather short procudure.
I was terrified and didnt wanna do my left eye but he already began... and the procedure was the same as the right eye.
Overall, I would say its a worth while surgery because I can see clearly in the morning without having to fuss over spectacles or contact lens. I was the happiest lady alive after the operation and I'm recovering very well. :)
